IXOM Hottest Home Baker 2015

Ixom's Hottest Home Baker award has been decided with some high quality baking entries making it one of the closest competitions in the history of the competition.

The competition also attracted top level judges who were fast to praise the efforts of the participants.  "Entries for this competition were the best we have ever seen", said Shirl, a graduate of the Ixom University of Food Development. "The quality, creativity and taste were of a very high standard making it a pleasure to judge", Tony commented.  Tony himself is no stranger to competition, having just returned from an international stint as a Judge on the hit TV reality show, "Ixom's got Talent".

Entries were fielded from all over the company with the first place award being accepted by Owen, who has won the event two years in a row.  Gracious in his victory, he was up beat about his performance.  "I knew I had to come up with something better than last year to win, this is such a prestigious event and a good way to launch my baking career", he said.

Second place went to Cam with his Aussie Pavlova, "I just wanted to give it a go, I didn't expect to be placed in the competition but I'm so pleased to be associated with this event and will aim higher next year", Cam commented.

Chocolate Malteste Kit Kat cake made by April certainly had the wow factor, there was a gasp from the crowd as the cake was placed on the judging table.  "I love to bake at home, I'm so pleased to have been placed 3rd", April told the reporter.

Big things were expected from rookie Nick, who was expected to surprise the crowd.  "My oven broke down and only worked on grill setting so there was no way I was going to make a great cake.  You can train as much as you want but it is what happens on the day that can make or break it and it just wasn't my day.  Lukily I was albe to call on my good friend "New Wold" to help me get an entry into the competition".

With the proceeds of $120 going to surf life saving makes everyone winner.
